I'm Swertia - a lyricist, singer, songwriter and visual artist amongst other things. My main goal is to have a community I can share my art with, I have no intention to achieve fame.
Currently, my focus is on making ambient music, I have been releasing some on my Soundcloud, but I plan on expanding my music to other genres.

More coming soon...

Swertia's story

a little bit about my background

I first got into music as a little kid. My grandma was a singer in the church, and my grandpa was a singer for a living. Since I was born into a family of artists, I grew up playing with my father's microphones. When I was 12, he taught me how to play the guitar, and on my 13th birthday, he gifted me my first ever electric guitar.Around the same time, I got very into alternative fashion, and my personal aesthetic started mattering a lot to me. When I turned 16, I wanted to show the world about my world. That's when first started sharing my art online, and I to this day do.

Swertia's music

my most profound art

I have gotten, to some extent, criticism about my music. I remain very quiet about it because I'm mostly scared of what others will think. I have released a few tracks on my Soundcloud, but I never comment about it to other people, which results in a low volume of listeners, but I don't mind.I'm focusing on the ambient genre currently, but I'm working on a few tracks inspired by bards in the medieval times. One of my latest releases is Orphic, an experimental track of mine. I sampled Pandora's breath and tried to portray how hard it was to deal with her disease and sudden passing. It's a track intended to make you feel odd and out of place. But again, it's just me playing around with noises.I just released Sophia's interlude, which is a track that'll transition into a song called Sophia, to which I'm yet composing.

Inspirations

the people that reach my soul

My inspirations vary a lot. It's like they're everywhere. I look up to my grandpa for making his life an art.But besides that, my inspirations oscillate depending on what I'm fixated in the moment. Currently, I've been heavily inspired by Mars Argo, Nicole Dollanganger and Bambi Baker.
